How Threshold handles your data.

Last updated 18 May 2026.

The short version.

Threshold has no servers and no accounts. Your personal minima live on your iPhone, in iOS’s on-device SwiftData store. Weather data comes from public aviation feeds. We do not track which airfield you check or what verdict you saw.

What we collect.

On the iOS app. Your personal minima, your saved airfields, and your subscription state are stored on your device. They are included in your standard iCloud encrypted device backup if you have one enabled. They never reach us.

On the marketing website. If you submit your email address to the waitlist on this site, that email is stored by our email provider (Loops, Inc.) so we can notify you when the app launches. We do not enrich, sell, or share that email. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing fly@flythreshold.com.

Subscriptions. If you buy a subscription, the transaction is handled by Apple and relayed to us through RevenueCat, Inc. so we can deliver the right feature set to your device. We receive an anonymous subscriber ID, the active product, and renewal/expiry status. We do not receive your Apple ID, your name, or your payment details.

Anonymous diagnostics. The iOS app uses Apple’s standard crash reporting only when you have opted in through iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements. We do not run third-party analytics or behavioural trackers inside the app.

What we do not collect.

  • Which airfields you check.
  • Which verdicts you see.
  • Your location, except inside the iOS app to find your nearest airfield (and only when you grant permission). Location is processed on-device. Nothing is sent to a server.
  • Your name, your address, your aircraft registration, or anything you have not typed in.
  • Cross-site cookies. The marketing site uses only the strictly necessary cookies that Next.js sets to serve the page.

Weather data.

METAR, TAF, and TAF amendments are fetched from aviationweather.gov (the public US NOAA Aviation Weather Center feed) and equivalent regional aviation feeds. Airfield coordinates and runway data come from the open-licence OurAirports dataset. We do not modify, store, or redistribute the weather data; the iOS app caches the most recent response on your device so the verdict still works on poor signal.

Your rights under UK GDPR.

You can ask us, at any time, to confirm what data we hold on you, to correct it, to delete it, or to receive a copy of it. The fastest path is to email fly@flythreshold.com from the address you signed up with. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Data controller.

Monkhouse and Partners Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, is the data controller for personal data processed by the Threshold website and iOS app. Contact: fly@flythreshold.com.

Changes to this policy.

If we change anything material in this policy, we will update the “last updated” date at the top and, where required by law, notify you in the iOS app the next time you open it.
